Need to identify the host of a specific website? Watch our video to learn exactly how.

Video Recap: 3 Different Methods to identify a host

  1. Visit: https://lookup.icann.org/en, paste your desired domain and check under the Registrar Information section for a host name.
  2. Visit: https://www.whatsmydns.net/, paste your desired domain, select “NS” in the drop down menu and perform a search. Once a search is displayed, click on and view the name servers. You’ll likely see a variation of the hosts domain, for example “googledomains.com” or “squarespacedns.com”
  3. Using the same tool as step #2, this time selecting the “A” drop-down, you’ll be shown various IP addresses. Copy the first IP and paste it into the following tool: https://whatismyipaddress.com/ip-lookup. The host name and ISP should now be displayed.
