“Branding is the art of aligning what you want people to think about your company with what people actually think about your company. And vice-versa. Jay Baer – Convince & Convert. Author with Amber Naslund of The Now Revolution.”

What is the first thing you do when you have a question, about anything? What is the first thing that 40% of the world does when they have a question, about anything? Ask the person standing next to them at the bus stop? Call their most trusted adviser? Pray about it? Well, they Google it, of course. They may even Google it on Bing or Yahoo, but they get on the internet and Google it. Now, what if it’s your business that has the answers, or if the best answer is your business? Are you there to answer them? Can they find you? And if so, what are you saying to them when they find you? Likely, your website is the first impression the world gets of your brand. That first impression will happen instantly, at a glance, and evolve or devolve from there.

The folks that exist in your immediate brand universe are comprised of no less than all your prospects, customers, vendors, partners, employees, all stakeholders, and passive audiences like those who see your ad on a billboard in passing, your logo on a delivery truck in their neighborhood, or on a retargeting banner at the top of your search engine results page. They all have opinions about your brand, and their opinions are valid. The vast majority will form these opinions, viewing through the lens which is your website. You know what they say about first impressions – you never get a second chance at them. When a prospect wants to interview you to see if you have the answer they are looking for, don’t show up looking tired and unprepared. Offer them the sustenance, energy, and freshness they deserve, and the world is yours!

That’s all folks!
